Sing For Fun | Western | Intermediate Level
Designed for students who are serious about their singing and want to take it to the next level.
OVIMA works with its students in a holistic way developing the student individually, and not just artistically and musically.
Overview
The course is for students ages 7 years and up who have been in the Elementary level class, and completed those requirements and ready for the Intermediate level which is a little more advanced in technique and repertoire. Students stay in this level until such time that they have completed the requirements of this class and are ready for the Sing For Fun Western Music Advanced level.
At the end of each session students do a graded performance. At the end of the year, students receive a Certificate of Achievement for the year if they have completed the Intermediate Level requirements and are ready for the Advanced level.
Students also receive a Progress Report at the end of each session indicating the progress they have made from the beginning to the end of the session with respect to technique, performance, class participation, practice, and attendance.

Prerequisites
The students who are of 4 yrs and up are able to register for this Beginners class. No previous experience is needed. Classes however are divided into batches according to age groups: 4-6 Years / 7-11 Years / 12-17 Years / 18+ Years
For the 4-6 years classes, parents are required to be present. These classes are specially designed for students to learn the basics of singing in a FUN manner. A student’s interest in music, and their eagerness to discover and explore their voices are some of the prerequisites. Additionally, students should have an open mind to learning.

Objectives
- For students to have some understanding of at least 1-2 areas of technique per session.
- To learn vocal technique to sing effortlessly, any genre of music.
- To introduce and expose students to various genres of music including, Pop, Rap, Hip Hop, Broadway, Disney, R&B, Jazz, Latin Music, etc.
- To make sure students are prepared to sing from memory, and in full performance mode, 1-2 songs
- To learn by listening.

Performance Platforms
At the end of each session, students must perform 1-2 songs at the culminating performance. All songs are to be performed from memory, in concert attire, and with expression, movement, and enacting via the text connecting with the audience. Parents, family and friends are welcome for all performances. Performances are graded.
Students are additionally provided other platforms to perform such as jam sessions; and seasonal concerts, in promoting OVIMA Global’s constant effort to develop CONFIDENCE & SELF-EXPRESSION in students.
OVIMA Global provides a FREE PRACTICE CLASS once a week where students are able to come together to practice their songs.
In the 12-17 and 18+ age groups, one student is chosen each week to facilitate the practice. In the 4-6 and 7-11 age groups junior teachers or student volunteers from the 12-17 or 18+ age groups can facilitate the practice.
Students facilitating classes are able to earn SERVICE POINTS for their schools, and receive a CERTIFICATE OF SERVICE from OVIMA Global. All practice sessions are recorded.
