Sing For Fun | Western | Advanced Level
Designed for students who are serious about their singing and want to take it to the next level.
OVIMA works with its students in a holistic way developing the student individually, and not just artistically and musically.
Overview
The course is for students ages 7 years and up who have been in the Intermediate level class, and completed those requirements and ready for the Advanced level which is a little more advanced in technique and repertoire.
At the Advanced level, students are taught to sing songs through the eyes of the composer and the lyricist. They work on songs in each of the sessions from the Semi Classical, Pop 1970s, Broadways 1970s, and Blues genres of music. With each of the genres they work on emotions, presentation, and performance.
Students at this level are expected to do the RSL Awards Rock and Pop and Musical Theatre Grades 6-8 in addition to the curriculum in this level. At this level, students continue to work on Sight Singing and Theory in preparation for Music Examinations. In Theory they work on Level 6-8 of the Royal Conservatory of Music Theory Curriculum.
Students stay in this level until such time that they have completed the requirements of this class and are ready for the Certificate Courses offered at OVIMA Global.
At the end of each session students do a graded performance. At the end of the year, students receive a Certificate of Achievement for Sing For Fun program if they have completed the Advanced Level requirments and are ready for the Certificate Courses offered at OVIMA Global.
Students also receive a Progress Report at the end of each session indicating the progress they have made from the beginning to the end of the session with respect to technique, performance, class participation, practice, and attendance.
